About EditVoyage
Our Mission
EditVoyage was created to provide honest, detailed, and practical travel information to help you plan your perfect trip. We believe good travel advice should be accessible to everyone, which is why we publish comprehensive guides for all kinds of travellers — from budget backpackers to comfort seekers.
Who We Are
EditVoyage is a small, independent editorial team of travel writers and editors, each covering the regions and subjects they know best. We are not an anonymous content farm: every guide we publish carries the name of the writer behind it, linking to a full profile of their background and expertise.
Meet the team:
- Elena Marchetti — Editor-in-Chief, based in Bologna, Italy. Editor-in-Chief with 15 years covering European travel, food and culture.
- Marcus Lindqvist — Senior Travel Writer, based in Stockholm, Sweden. Senior writer specialising in the Nordics, budget travel and long-distance rail.
- Sofia Alves — Travel Writer & Copy Editor, based in Lisbon, Portugal. Writer and editor covering Portugal, Spain and Latin America.
- James Okonkwo — Travel Writer, based in Nairobi, Kenya. Writer focused on Africa, the outdoors and sustainable travel.
- Yuki Tanaka — Travel Writer, based in Tokyo, Japan. Writer covering Japan and travel across Asia.
- Clara Dubois — Travel Writer, based in Lyon, France. Writer covering France, remote work and the digital-nomad life.
You can see everyone on our Writers & Editors page.
How We Work
Every guide combines our writers' first-hand travel experience with careful, source-based research, and is reviewed by a second editor before publication. We cross-check practical details against official sources, keep guides current, and correct mistakes when we find them. The full details are in our Editorial Policy.
What Makes Us Different
- Named, accountable authors: You always know who wrote what you're reading.
- Editorial standards: A transparent, published process for research, review and corrections.
- Focused coverage: We concentrate on writing and maintaining guides we can keep genuinely accurate, rather than spreading ourselves thin.
- Editorial independence: Recommendations are never for sale, and advertising is kept separate from editorial decisions.
- Regularly updated: We revise guides as things change and show the dates on every article.
Our Values
Authenticity: We share real, useful experience, not marketing fluff.
Sustainability: We promote responsible travel and respect for local cultures.
Accessibility: Travel should be for everyone, regardless of budget.
Transparency: We're honest about how we work and about both the good and the bad of every destination.
